ACCOUNTABILITY

IHP is fully accountable to our donors and in-country recipients

Safety

Our risk management processes are totally focused on only accepting donated medical product that is needed, first quality and in date, and only supplying organisations and individuals that have the necessary supply chain in place to make good and proper use of the donation.

Before any donated medical product is accepted and delivered to our warehouse, we carefully assess whether there is a specific need for the stock that is being offered, amongst our on-the-ground partners. Donated product is stored and handled by DHL on behalf of IHP, at their national pharmaceutical distribution centre in the UK - a service they provide free of charge.

Professionalism

IHP screens all partners prior to sending medical aid overseas, ensuring that proper logistics and distribution strategies have been set in place. IHP also provides all necessary shipping documents, providing all the necessary information to enable customs clearance.

We are advised of safe arrival of the shipment at its final destination, and partners are required to provide a follow up written report detailing how the particular donation was used. In the case of a product recall, IHP is able to track each donated item and quickly issue a recall order for the product in question, whether it is awaiting shipment or is already overseas.
