Our mission and our approach

Our mission

International Health Partners (IHP) is a UK based charitable humanitarian organisation that aims to provide free medical aid to the world's most needy people, without discrimination or regard for ethnic or religious background, by operating in partnership with the UK pharmaceutical industry, government, medical community, individuals and NGOs through the motivation of Christian love.

Our approach

In undertaking all our programmes, IHP aims to:

  • Provide free medical aid to all needy peoples of the developing world without discrimination on the basis of ethnicity, religion, age or gender.
  • Fulfil a special unifying role within the UK's overseas relief and development community establishing partnerships with the health care industry, overseas relief and development organisations, government, the medical community and the general public.
  • Formally endorse and operate in compliance with the World Health Organization Guidelines on Drug Donations. IHP also subscribes to the Red Cross Code of Conduct.
  • Aims to ensure that its actions support international aid efforts as outlined in the
    UN General Assembly's September 2000 Millennium Development Goals.
  • Work using local assessments of in-country needs in order to secure essential medicines and supplies that complement the capacity building and market access activities of other development partners.
  • Function independently, free of corporate, political, social or religious association.
  • Function with, and be committed to, transparency, honesty, efficiency and integrity in its daily operations as reflected in its adherence to Judeo-Christian values.
