Dr R W Barker - Member
Richard has been involved in healthcare and pharmaceuticals for
the last 25 years. He is currently the Director General of the Association
of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) representing the industry
to government and other stakeholders, and on the boards of the European
and International equivalents. Prior to this he spent more than
a decade in the United States, managing IBM's healthcare business
and Chiron's diagnostics operation and also working with early stage
biotechnology companies. His interests include mountain walking
and kayaking and playing with his new granddaughter! |

The Viscount Brentford of Newick - Trustee
A solicitor by training, Crispin's career has been centred in London
working with what is now Taylor Wessing. He has been involved in
peace building in Africa for over 20 years and was, until recently,
a member of the House of Lords where he had special interests in
African affairs, human rights and the needs of charities. He gives
time and support to many small charities and is also Chair of the
Board of the Evangelical Alliance. He is churchwarden of a London
parish. Crispin continues an active involvement in youth work -
an interest he has held all his life. He is an avid tennis player!
Married to Gill, Crispin has four children and four grandchildren. |

Dr Hazel Butler
MB ChB - Trustee
Hazel has been a doctor since 1969. After training at Bristol she
worked there, in Surrey, London and Kent. She has been a GP Trainer
and is presently a single-handed practitioner in Cranbrook. Married
to Ian, an ordained minister in the Church of England, Hazel combined
her career with that of vicar's wife for 12 years. During those
years she was particularly involved in youth work and running groups
for young marrieds. She has received a number of high awards for
her medical work. Her interests include gardening, theatre, cooking
and reading. Hazel and Ian have three sons and 4 grandchildren.

Gary Davies - Trustee
Gary has worked in the advertising and marketing field for over
25 years in the UK and the US. He also worked with Operation
Mobilisation, spending four years on the MV Logos (incorporating
the world's largest floating book exhibition), mostly in South East
Asia and Africa. Since 1993, Gary and his wife Flora have run Indigo
Creative Marketing, working primarily with charities. Gary's interests
include sailing, music, gardening, travel…. and his three
children! He plays in a music group and is an accomplished guitarist.

Anthony Dunnett CBE MA BCom (Econ) FRSA FCIB - Member
and President
Anthony worked in banking for 25 years, in the UK and abroad, ending
as Finance Director of a number of HSBC's businesses. He spent 10
years working in Government, firstly in the DTI, and then heading
up English Partnerships. In 1999 he became founding CEO of the South
East England Development Agency. A former cubs leader, Anthony was
also churchwarden for six years. His interests include working on
his lathe, gardening, athletics, music and modern architecture.
He is married to Ruth and they have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. |

Ruth Dunnett BEd (Hons) - Company Secretary
Following a degree at Sussex University, Ruth worked as a teacher
overseas and in the UK. For over fifteen years she has
combined facilitating community adult education courses with
running a retreat property, involvement in church government
and more recently, pursuing a further degree. Ruth is the mother
of three young adults. She is a school governor and has
many varied interests including dance, walking, reading, creating
recipes and singing. She is quite passionate about dark
chocolate! |

Ram Gidoomal CBE - Member
Ram is Chair of London Sustainability Exchange and an entrepreneur
and former UK Group Chief Executive of the Inlaks Group, a multinational
employing 7,000 people worldwide. Made a CBE in 1998 for services
to the Asian Business Community and Race Relations, he is Chairman
of Employability Forum, helping refugees into jobs, and of the South
Asian Development Partnership. His hobbies include reading,
current affairs, swimming and walking! |

Alex Harris - Director of Industry and Government
Relations
Alex
has worked as a lobbyist for 6 years. His consultancy experience
has led him to work for many parts of the pharmaceutical industry,
and he currently manages the trade association for the generic
medicines industry, in addition to his work at IHP. Before concentrating
on the pharmaceutical industry, Alex was a consultant to foreign
governments, IT companies and utilities who required expert knowledge
of the UK political system. He counts long distance cycling among
his hobbies, and is married to Tana. |

Professor the Lord McColl of Dulwich, CBE MS FRCS FRCSE
FACS - Member
Lord McColl pursued a medical career at St Bartholomew's Hospital
and then Guy's where he has remained as Professor of Surgery. He
was Parliamentary Private Secretary (Lords) to Prime Minister John
Major and continues to play an active role in the House of Lords.
Lord McColl is Chair and surgeon to Mercy Ships UK and Vice-Chair
of Mercy Ships International. He is also President of the Leprosy
Mission and Vice President of the Prince of Wales' Health Council
on Disability Partnership. He is actively involved in many charities
and makes frequent visits to a Mercy Ship. His wife, children and
their spouses are all involved in medicine. |

Revd Dame Sarah Mullally MSc Interprofessional Health,
BSc (Hons) Nursing Studies, Dip Th, FSBU, DSc Bournmouth and Wolverhampton
(both honorary) - Member
Sarah began her career in nursing in 1984, at St Thomas' Hospital.
She has taken up a number of nursing leadership roles including
Director of Nursing at the Chelsea and Westminster and later Deputy
CEO and Acting CEO. In 1999 she was appointed as Chief Nursing Officer
and Director of Patient Experience. She was the youngest person
to hold these positions. Sarah has also been a non-executive Director
of the English Board of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Visiting.
Ordained in the Church of England, Sarah is now Priest-in-charge
and Team Rector designate in the Diocese of Southwark. She is married
with a son and daughter and engages in extreme sports, as encouraged
by her family! She also enjoys sailing and playing the French horn. |

Stephen O'Brien CBE LLD (Honorary) DSc (Honorary) DUniv
(Honorary) - Trustee and Chairman
Stephen's career has been in the financial sector. His posts include
Chair of Charles Fulton Holdings, Director of Jessel Toynbee and
Co and founding CEO of Business in the Community. His present positions
include Chair of London First and Director of the Prince of Wales
International Business Leaders Forum. He is also Chair or Director
of numerous Trusts and Councils. Stephen is Chair of Governors of
the University of East London and an ordained deacon in the Church
of England. Married with 4 children and three stepchildren, Stephen
is actively involved in his community through membership of several
Trusts, including the Immigrants Aid Trust and the Advisory Council
for the Prince's Trusts. His interests include classical music,
carrying his wife's harp, gardening, cooking and needlepoint. |

George Rocke -
International Director
George spent 10 years as Chief Executive of Beacon Millennium,
a
company which specialised in organising events on the international,
national, regional, and local stages. Previous to which he spent
a
stint in the Armed Forces experiencing active service in the
Gulf War
in 1991 and Northern Ireland, a period as Extra Equerry to HRH
the
Duke of Edinburgh and he was the last Adjutant of the 2nd Battalion
Grenadier Guards. George is married to Caroline and they have
four
children. After his family and his friends, his interests
include music, fishing and most things to do with the sea. |

Professor
Chris Summerton MA, MD, FRCP, FRCP(Edin) - Trustee
Chris works as a Consultant in Gastroenterology and General
Medicine at Trafford General Hospital in Manchester, the birthplace
of the NHS. He is involved in Medical Education and helped to design
the undergraduate medical course at Manchester University. He has
also been engaged in medical management and service modernisation.
Chris is currently Chair of the Christian Medical Fellowship, a
national organisation with a membership of about 6,500 doctors and
medical students. He has a particular concern to help doctors integrate
Christian faith and medical practice. He is married to Debbie and
has five children ranging in age from 20 to 12. This has given varied
opportunities to learn skills of diplomacy, negotiation and peacekeeping! |
