On 26th September 2008 the Secretary of State for Health of the Gambia signed a Declaration with IHP and The WHO in Banjul, establishing the Gambia Health Alliance (GHA). The GHA is an international collaboration of companies, health bodies and NGOs, donating their skills, expertise, products and services to help accelerate the Gambia’s ability to improve its health service to meet the Millennium Development Goals by 2015.
The GHA is helping the Government of The FGambia to build the capacity and expertise of its health service to meet the 3 health-related Millennium Development Goals by 2015. The GHA is the first public-private-NGO partnership of its type in Africa, specifically seeking to attract resources in a strategic way to enable sustainable improvements to be made.
