IHP partners with NGOs such as the Vine Trust. The Vine Trust is based in Scotland and sends teams of doctors each month to Amazonia in Peru to work in collaboration with Peruvian medics on ships offering medical services to the Indians who live along the Amazon River. The medical ships provide GP services and opthalmic and dental surgery. IHP provides The Vine Trust with medicines for their work which enables substantial savings, which in turn has enabled the The Vine Trust to commission a fourth ship. Donated medicines from the UK, plus transport costs to Amazonia still provide savings when compared to the cost of purchasing medicines locally.
