Special projects
International Health Partners’ primary aim is to enable healthcare professionals overseas to increase the effectiveness and scope of their humanitarian effort by working in partnership with ourselves and other complementary agencies. IHP seeks to provide donated, quality, in-date products and supplies to accredited large projects such as medical centres and hospitals, run by both NGOs and the local Government. It is important that the donations we channel are used to complement and lever local agreed healthcare programmes.
In April 2005 IHP commenced its Special Consignments Programme for distributing in-date surpluses of essential medicines. To date, medicines and supplies have been sent to Afghanistan, Angola, Cambodia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Philippines, Romania and Zaire.

In undertaking all our programmes, IHP aims to:
- Provide free medical aid to all needy peoples of the developing world without discrimination on the basis of ethnicity, religion, age or gender.
- Fulfil a special unifying role within the UK's overseas relief and development community establishing partnerships with the health care industry, overseas relief and development organisations, government, the medical community and the general public.
- Formally endorse and operates in compliance with the World Health Organisation Guidelines on Drug Donations. IHP also subscribes to the Red Cross Code of Conduct.
- Work within locally identified, in-country needs assessments to source essential medicines and supplies that complement the capacity building and market access activities of other development partners.
- Function independently, free of corporate, political, social or religious association.
- Function with, and is committed to, transparency, honesty, efficiency and integrity in its daily operations as reflected in its adherence to Judeo-Christian values.
