All you need to know about IHP's relief efforts

Summary

Since the devastating earthquake struck Haiti on 12 Jan 2010, IHP has been delivered a comprehensive disaster response programme. Over 150,000 people in Haiti have recieved first class medical care as a result of products donated to IHP (with a value of £3m) by 60 pharmaceutical companies from across Europe.
 
We are continuing to support our partners in Haiti, and following an audit visit have agreed to seek to support them for a further two years.
 
 
Who we are working with
IHP is working with a number of International NGOs with teams on the ground (International Medical Corps, Food For The Poor, World Emergency Relief and Direct Relief International) who are supporting many projects across the disaster zone. Medicines from IHP are being used in providing emergency medical care at:
 
  • Hopital de l'Universite d'Etat d'Haiti (HEUH), a 700 bed hospital in Port-au-Prince
  • Static and mobile operations in several areas outside of Port-au-Prince including Petit Goave, Grande Goave, Petionville, Boloise, Carrefour, Jacmal and Gressier.
 
 
 
 

Where the aid has been used

The donated medicines have been used in NGO and government run clinics and hospitals in the areas most affected - in and around the capital Port-au-Prince.
 
The future 

IHP will continue to send much needed medicines to Haiti. If you have any stock that you feel might be suitable, please do not hesitate to contact us. The MoH in Haiti is now asking for stock only with one year's dating or more.
