Dr Zani, a clinic paediatrician in Gaza, told us that up to 40% of the children he sees are anaemic, and one in seven malnourished. “The causes are multiple,” he says. “Poverty, unemployment, food insecurity… It is very important that we have medicines in liquid or powder form.” As well as sending medicines, we provide multivitamins and multi-minerals to help increase access to nutrients. In 2021, we shipped 41,900 of these treatments to countries including South Sudan, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Yemen and Jordan.
