  1. FAQs

I don’t have a Will, what now?

November is Will Aid Month

This month you can update or make a new will for free in return for a donation to a consortium of charities.  While International Health Partners is not directly part of this consortium, we are very supportive of this initiative as we hope it will encourage you to think how you could leave a lasting legacy for access to healthcare globally by remembering the charity in your will. Click here to find out more about Will Aid

We would like to thank you for considering this special decision. See below some FAQ’s on creating your Will. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us.

Can I change my mind?

Expand

Yes, you are free to change your Will at any time. If you have informed us that you plan to leave a gift to IHP in your Will, you are under no obligation to do so. If you do change your mind, we do appreciate you telling us so we can update our records.

Do I need a solicitor to create a Will?

Expand

A solicitor will ensure that your wishes will be carried out properly, that your Will is legal and valid, and that your estate will go exactly where you intend it to. You can choose to use a will writer or an online will provider.

If you need help finding a solicitor, visit the Law Society’s solicitor finding service: https://solicitors.lawsociety.org.uk/

Do I need a Will?

Expand

Surprisingly, many people die without making a Will. This is called 'being intestate'. As a result, your estate may not go where you would have wished, which may cause some issues for your loved ones.

By creating your Will now, you can be assured that your estate will go exactly where you want it and that your loved ones will be provided for.

How much does it cost to create a Will?

Expand

The cost of writing a will varies depending on how complicated it is. You can ask several solicitors what they charge before making your decision.

From time to time there are Free Will offers, which allow you to write or update your will for free through a solicitor or online will provider.
