Payroll giving

Payroll giving is the easiest, most tax-effective way to donate towards the work of IHP on a regular basis. If you earn a salary or pay into a pension, you can give a donation each month to IHP from your pay packet.

How does it work?

  • Choose how much you want to donate
  • Your donation comes out of your wages on payday
  • The taxman gives us the tax on your donation at no extra cost to you

Why is it tax effective?

This is because your donation gets deducted from your salary pre-tax. This means that money that would usually go to HMRC, will instead be put towards supporting IHP in delivering lifesaving medicine around the world. For example, if you donate £10.00 a month, only £8.00 comes out of your salary and the HMRC Pays the rest, whilst IHP will receive the full £10.00 donation.

Setting up payroll giving is easy

    • Firstly, find out from your employer if they support payroll giving
    • If your employer does support payroll giving, you can simply request that they set up your chosen monthly donation amount to International Health Partners
    • If your employer does not support payroll giving, they can contact the Charity Aid Foundation or they can choose a payroll giving agency. Here is a list of all approved agencies for payroll giving.
    • When setting up your payroll giving donation you will need to supply the following information
      • International Health Partners UK
      • Unit 402, Clerkenwell Workshops
        27/31 Clerkenwell Close
        London, EC1R 0AT
        United Kingdom.
      • Charity Registration Number: 1105455

Please see below some frequently asked questions. If you need any further assistance, please email us at [email protected]

Are there any fees?

Expand

Yes, a small fee is usually applied. Your employer will use a payroll giving agency to collect and distribute your donation to cover its operating costs. Some employers will offer to cover this fee s that IHP receive the full donation amount. If this is not the case, typically 2-4% of your donation will be deducted.

Can I give through my pension?

Expand

Yes, you can. If you receive an occupational pension and your pension provider deducts tax through the PAYE system, you are still eligible for the scheme. Simply ask your occupational pension provider to make a donation from your pension before tax has been deducted.

When will my first donation be deducted?

Your first donation should be made the next payday after you set up your payroll giving. However, this is dependent on whether you set up your pay roll giving before your employer’s payroll has been processed. If not, you will make your first donation on the following payday.
