IHP were delighted to take part in Partnership for Quality Medical Donations (PQMD) Annual Global Health Policy Forum earlier this month, as named Programme Sponsors, alongside fellow sponsors AstraZeneca, GSK, Concordia. The event convened leading healthcare companies, and humanitarian organisations collaborating to improve global health around the world.
At a time when the world is grappling with pressing health challenges, the conference, held at the historic Goodenough House explored the changing global landscape across health, funding alongside major politics shifts. It showcased how, amongst this change, partnerships are becoming increasingly important.
Experts in global health shared their knowledge on topics including:
- Future trends of communicable diseases
- Pandemics: past and future
- Technological advancements and leapfrogging
- Aging societies
- Rights to healthcare
- Commitments to global health in the future
As global development navigates challenges, the conference highlighted how organisations must seize the opportunities that arise from public-private partnerships. Leveraging knowledge, expertise, and key resources across the NGO and healthcare sector can drive significant progress in increasing access to healthcare in low-resource and disaster-hit settings.
IHP’s CEO, Adele Paterson, joined the conversation entitled ‘Crises Mode: Disaster & Humanitarian Response in a Complex World’ to share how IHP is remaining steadfast in its clear mission to serve those in need during these changing times, and the importance of being outward-looking and focussed on partnerships and compliance. IHP needs to be agile to respond to humanitarian crises and committed to delivering healthcare to the communities we are supporting around the world.
With many of our existing partners in the room, IHP was able to celebrate the strong partnerships we have with both NGOs and healthcare companies.
The network continues to share a joint vision: to bring quality product, governed by industry standards, to people most affected by health crises around the world.
This chimes with our core aim at IHP: to get the right medicines to the right people at the right time, in a safe and compliant way. Thank you to PQMD for facilitating such an important week together and for the network’s ongoing to commitment to leading the way in high-quality and compliant medical donations, united by a common goal to improve global health.
